Homemade Cranberry Sauce

I like cranberry sauce. I like that jelly stuff in the can lol I always have and I always will. It goes perfectly with sweet potato casserole and greenbean casserole all touching on the plate! I dont eat turkey so I definitely indulge in ALL the sides during Friendsgiving celebrations.


Homemade cranberry sauce is actually very easy to make, it only takes 4 ingredients: cranberries, liquid, sweetener, (optional) orange. This low cost, easy to make dish comes together in 10 minutes and you'll have a tasty dish anyone can enjoy. This recipe and others are available in my cookbook.



Ingredients

12 ounces cranberries

1 cup white sugar

1/2 cup orange juice

1/2 cup water



Directions

In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries and cook until the cranberries start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and place sauce in a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.




*To reduce sugar: white sugar and orange juice can be swapped for 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup.
