Create Your Own Bath Fizzies

When I began making essential oil bath salts I excitedly created a range of aroma profiles. Blends such as Honey Suckle Summer, Florida Sun Tea, Hot Chocolate, Peppermint Rose, and RIP not only smelled really great but the oils in each one worked together to bring quick and natural healing to muscles and mind.

Bath salts are pretty, they contains herbs or flowers, and they smell divine but my kids decided we wanted something fun too! That's when we created bath fizzies, all natural fizzy bath salts with the same healing quality plus some extra bubbles for fun. The kids created scents like strawberry lemonade, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate milk shake. We added actual chocolate to the fizzies and it made the water look so cool.

You can create your own bath fizzies at home using this recipe and inexpensive items that can be found at a local grocery store or health food store just remember to always purchase your essential oils from reputable source to reduce the possibility of skin irritation.

In the video below I demonstrate lavender and chamomile bath fizzies with both of the dried flowers added to the mix as well as some lavender and vanilla essential oils. I suggest thoroughly mixing the carrier oil with the essential oil prior to adding to the dry ingredients. Once you combine the below ingredients you can add the mixture directly to a warm bath or slowly add water using a spray bottle and form the mixture into a shape or "bath bomb". You can also do what we did and press them into muffin tins! Whatever you get creative and have fun.

Recipe

1cup sea salt

1cup epsom salt

1/2 cup baking soda

1/4 cup citric acid

2 tbsp carrier oil

*no more than 16 drops essential oils for kids recipe. 16-20 drops are safe for use with adults over 12*
